Villa Profile
Cassibile Siracusa
Description
For 27 centuries the city of Siracusa has hosted various peoples, from the Corinthians who founded it, to those introducers of Baroque architecture, that abounds in it. There is a wealth of antiquity to see or else, more up-to-date, try Siracusa.s colourful noisy shopping like the smoked swordfish and tuna at the Casa del Pesce fish shop in the Via de Benedictis, a local legend. All of Siracusa.s delights are just 12 kilometres away from Villa Fanusa while Cassibile.s charms are 7 kilometres away. A narrow private driveway, shared by two houses, leads to the villa.s double iron gates. Ample parking. A narrow garden borders the house on two sides, mainly laid to lawn.
Location
Villa Fanusa is a no-nonsense no-frills holiday house that rightly trades on its excellent position, less than a stone.s throw from the (sea) water.s edge. A bright white two floor building, completely fenced in, in a quiet residential area. The sea is undoubtedly the raison d.etre of this villa - it is no more than 20 metres away from it, via the villa.s own gate and a short path through a stand of bamboo. A balcony runs along the first floor so that the sea may best be viewed at any time of the day or night, and much the same goes for a brightly furnished terrace beneath. And what a sea! The clearest cleanest water in the Mediterranean, purified by the Ionian Sea.s currents. The shoreline is rocky but bathing is excellent with areas of sandy seabed.
